fdu originated in the 1980s when Heiner Brinkhege and his business partner Wilhelm Meyer commissioned their first concrete plant in Bad Laer. In its early years, the company was also known as Fertig-Decken-Union, Element-Decken-Union (EDU), and STAAG.

Through continuous growth and strategic acquisitions, fdu has developed into Germany’s largest provider of precast ceilings and precast walls. Today, the company employs around 750 employees at approximately 30 locations. fdu customers benefit from short distances and delivery times. As an established market leader, we can also handle large orders on schedule.
